What is GitHall App about?

GitHall is a GitHub application that allows users to transform their private repositories into customer support desks. With GitHall, users can share a version of their Issues and Discussions with non-technical colleagues or customers without granting them access to the code in their private repository. This means that users can receive feature requests and bug reports, share their progress with customers, and create a vibrant user community, all from the comfort of their private repo.

GitHall works by using the GitHub API to fetch issues and discussions from a user's private repository. It then recreates these pages following GitHub design principles and serves them through a public URL. Anyone with this link can see a user's issues, but not their code.

Users can customize their GitHall page with their logo, cover image, and custom colors, and add links to resources like wikis, doc pages, customer support contacts, and more. While GitHall does not yet offer the ability to restrict access to specific GitHub or email accounts or allow organization members to comment with their GH accounts, the service is still in beta and actively seeking feedback.

Overall, GitHall is a useful tool for companies that want to streamline their customer support process while maintaining the security of their private repositories.
